The importance of nutrition prior to exercise.
In my private fitness studio, in Cliffside Park, New Jersey. I am often asked the question, how important is it to eat before exercise. This is a very important question that is asked. It’s not really complicated unless someone makes it to become located. Nutrition is one of the most important factors in a fitness program. Without proper nutrition, we will not be fueled properly. We would not have the proper nutrition to recover from our workouts. And also the building process after recovery is usually nutrition orientated.
I would like to give a few examples of how someone that works out can benefit from nutrition before the exercise. Eating just before you exercise is not a good idea. An hour to two hours prior would be a good recommendation for a general fitness orientated person to fuel their bodies with the right nutrients to help them get through their workout. Simple meals of the best, 3 to 4 ounces of protein and a simple carbohydrate would work wonders for many.
Depending on the specific activity one does should delegate what nutrition they should be having. Aerobic orientated workouts with endurance Incorporated and them. One should in a carbohydrate meal with a minimal amount of protein. A whole-grain cereal and skim milk could do it.
If there was a more strength oriented athlete. This could mean a little more protein-orientated meal such as some chicken and the sweet potato.
If one wants to do a yoga class? It would be a good idea to have a banana, some Greek yogurt and some water two hours before the class.
Now nutrition is very personal. Being a weight-loss specialist and a personal fitness trainer. I have to tailor the nutrition needs to my individual clients according to their activities. It is very important to get together with a personal fitness trainer and discuss a variety of foods that the client can eat prior to working out. This would enable the client to recover properly, exercise more efficiently and reach their fitness goals.
