As a personal trainer in Boca Raton Florida, where I train my clients in their homes or apartments, I come across some very motivated clients who ask me to give them some homework where they could do extra exercises and rehabilitation work on their off days. This makes me feel really great to know that my clients are willing to go the extra mile about their fitness program.
What most personal trainers must realize is that they have to give their clients fitness programs and not workouts. There is a big difference.
What’s the Difference?
A workout that a personal trainer gives you can be more grueling and not as calculated in terms of progress for the client. It’s usually an extra work out that the client can do on their off days to improve their fitness goals
This is contrasted by a fitness program, which is a specially designed program that the client can do that is not as challenging as a workout. But, it gives the same results. A personal trainer who gives their clients a fitness program to do on their off days motivates the client to do extra work but in a safe and calculated way. The workout is designed to either rehabilitate or just give a little stimulation to the body to help with recovery for some extra work on the client’s weak points.
In my personal training business in Boca Raton and Delray Beach, Florida, I’m always careful to give a client a fitness program that fits the goals, recovery ability and fitness level of my client.
