There’s a great saying in the fitness industry. 30% today is better than 100% tomorrow. This meaning a little will go a long way in terms of exercise and even nutrition. Putting off because you’re tired, not motivated or you think that you don’t have enough time to exercise is not a reason not to get in the workout.
My experience as a personal trainer has had me experience many situations where my clients, friends or people that I talked to in regard to exercise nutrition. Have a very unrealistic approach to meeting their fitness goals. Sometimes we have to set up a time to take care of our fitness goals. Other times it might be at the spur of the moment. There is no right way. Just get your workout in. Throughout the day when an opportunity arises that you have half hour to 45 minutes. Be prepared to get a workout in. In my private studio in Cliffside Park, I get calls all the time of clients that have some extra time and if I can accommodate them at the spur of the moment. Many times I have that opportunity that they could take advantage of.
Taking a workout in unplanned moment is a very healthy thing. First you be very surprised to see how much you can do and get an excellent workout in. This will definitely help relieve the stress, alter your mood and put you on a more positive path toward the rest of your day. As a fitness trainer, I try to teach the 30% today is better than the hundred percent tomorrow rule. I invite people in my private fitness studio to take advantage of a walk in off the street, or unplanned timeslot.
Taking a workout at the last moment is not a bad thing. It means that you’re motivated and inspired to move. It can be simple as a 5 to 10 minute walk. Four to six strength training exercises, such as squats, lunges and calf raises two sets of 15 repetitions. Along with some upper body work. Push-ups, dumbbell rows, and some basic curls and triceps work. Sometimes simple is the most effective. Exercising for long periods of time sometimes is not the key to reaching a high level of fitness. Intensity and a complete workout are just as important.
Next time you’re going to your day. What ever your goals may be. Weight loss, being more active or just taking care of some problem areas. If you think of a time that your inspired. You look at your watch and you seem like you don’t have enough time. You’ll be really surprised how much a little will go a long way.
